Khul Ke Naach Challenge
On September 8, 2020, we released a music single -- "Khul Ke Naach". As the world began to change at the start of 2020, we each felt the urge to hold on to THE one thing that remained constant for us -- dance. "Khul Ke Naach" was penned in those moments of hope and it's about a dancer's personal journey to discover what never left -- the dance itself.
My team is launching a Hook Step Challenge for "Khul Ke Naach". We are also taking this challenge as an opportunity to spread the importance of Mental Health and to celebrate World Mental Health Day on October 10.
Why?
I've seen my closest family members and friends go through some tough times and seen them have limited resources on how to get support beyond the support of their friends and family. There's still very limited knowledge about how we can get support -- especially in the South Asian Context. I want us to take the opportunity to educate ourselves and spread awareness. Who knows who this might end up helping.
How can I participate in the Hook Step Challenge?
1. Post a video of you dancing to 16 counts (kudos for 32) of the chorus "Khul Ke Naach" https://youtu.be/alMC7WRTeOI?t=46 to your social media and tag @BostonBollywood. Feel free to use any previous choreo. Multiple people can be in the video :)
2. Tag at least one institution promoting Mental Health Awareness of your choice. Don't know one? If you are in the US, have you heard of @southasiantherapists?
3. Tag at least three of your friends/family members to take up the challenge.
4. Share the hashtags "#KhulKeNaach" "#WeAreTogether" & "#BostonBollywood"
5. If you share an original hook step (and we will know) before October 10, 2020, and we LOVE it, we will use it in our official video and credit you! We have about 14k fans on Instagram and 19K subscribers on YouTube :) Your account/post must be public for us to be able to see it.
Thank you, again, for reading my message and I hope we can all come together in the fight against mental illness.
