Dancer Audition
Boston Bollywood is seeking disciplined adult dancers (18+) for its season eighteen performance. Experience in some form of dance is required.
How do I register for auditions?
Due to the nature of auditions, prior registration is mandatory.
Fill the following form (Please use the name of your Government issued ID):

Submit the form with the correct email; check spam if no email confirmation.
No further emails will be sent unless you are signed up for virtual auditions. Everyone registered for virtual auditions will get a tutorial recording at 6 PM on Aug 31st. Registration closes at noon on Aug 29th.
When are Bollywood/Contemporary auditions?
In-person auditions: 2-4 PM on Saturday, Aug 29 @ Rumba Y Timbal (Info session conducted from 4-4:45 PM)

When are Semi-classical auditions?
In-person auditions: 4:45-6:30 PM on Saturday, Aug 29 @ Rumba Y Timbal (Info session conducted from 4-4:45 PM)

Dancers new to Boston Bollywood must attend one audition info session covering tuition, piece signup, tech/dress rehearsal, show day, and dancer contract details.

What to wear?
Please wear comfortable workout clothes. Avoid denim jeans as they can restrict movement.
What if I participated in Season Sixteen/Seventeen?
Options:
For Season 17 dancers, performance and work ethic will impact Season 18 levels, whether you re-audition or not.
How will I be judged in the auditions?
Auditions determine dancers' level placements based on precision, energy, and grace. For Bollywood/Contemporary, 6 levels are assigned. Semi-classical dancers are grouped into A+, A and B, with A+ having preference in signing up for pieces.
All level placements will be final.
What if I am selected as a choreographer in Season 18 but would like to participate in other pieces?
Selected as a choreographer in Season 18? To join other dances, participation in Dancer Auditions is mandatory.

- No need to prepare any choreography. We will teach 45-60 sec choreography. To audition, you will perform in groups for evaluation.
- If you are dissatisfied with your in-person audition performance -- Submit a video of the full audition choreography done twice and back to back by 11:59 PM, Aug 31. Send an Unlisted YouTube link to [email protected] with full name (as printed on their Government ID) and phone number with email subject line: "Boston Bollywood Season Eighteen Dancer Auditions" -- a music edit will be sent to all registered dancers.
Virtual Auditions:
- Receive tutorial link and music cut for thee audition routine at 6 PM on Aug 31 via email (sent to the email address filled in the Dancer Audition Registration form)
- Learn the choreography from the tutorial and record the full routine twice and back to back without edits.
- Send an Unlisted YouTube link to [email protected] with full name (as printed on their Government ID) and phone number with email subject line: "Boston Bollywood Season Eighteen Dancer Auditions".
- Deadline for audition video: 11:59 PM EST, Sep 2nd.
- Record in bright light with a contrasting background; avoid matching colors.

- Re-audition in-person or virtually for Season 18.
