How do I register for auditions?
Boston Bollywood is seeking dancers for its season five performance. Our dancer audition process has changed from prior seasons. Before filling the audition registration form, please read the instructions in the Audition Format section carefully. Experience in Bollywood dance is preferred but not required. Season Five Dancer Audition Registration Form
Registration will close at 11:59 pm February 18th and no walk-ins are allowed at auditions.
What is the audition format?
All registered dancers will be emailed a video link on February 19th. In order to receive this video link, please ensure that you enter the correct email address in the registration form. The video will contain 20-30 seconds of choreography. All dancers auditioning for Season Five must learn the choreography in the video in its entirety on their own prior to the audition. 1-2 hours of practice should be sufficient to learn the choreography, but dancers can spend as much time as needed to learn it before auditions.
Dancer auditions at both the Cambridge and Natick locations will consist of two rounds. In the first round, dancers will be required to perform the choreography they received in the video. No instruction or rehearsal will be provided prior to performing. The purpose of this round is to judge your ability to learn choreography from videos without instruction or feedback from your choreographers. (Complete mastery of the choreography is not expected.)
In the second round, dancers will be taught new choreography. This round is to judge your ability to learn new choreography in rehearsals. Level placement will be determined based on both round one and round two. All level placements are final.

What if I can't make dancer auditions?
If you are unable to attend Cambridge/Natick auditions in person and would like to be considered for Season Five, you must:
Those who attend auditions in person will be given preference for higher levels or casting in semi-classical pieces over mail-in auditions since the mail-in auditions cannot demonstrate the new choreography from the second round of auditions.
If you have participated in previous seasons of Boston Bollywood, your performance in previous seasons will be taken into account in deciding your levels. However, please keep in mind that your participation in specialty (semi-classical, contemporary) pieces in previous seasons does not guarantee casting in similar pieces in Season Five.
Where will rehearsals for the Performance Quarter be conducted?
Rehearsals for Performance Quarter will be conducted in the following cities:
Do I have to audition every season?
Any dancer who did not participate in season four must audition. Dancers who participated in season four who want to audition for a higher level placement may also participate. This does not guarantee a higher level placement.
How do level placements work?
Dancers will be placed in four levels -- Beginner, Intermediate-1, Intermediate-2 and Advanced. Level placement is decided based on the dancer's performance in the audition. Dancers are rated on the basis of their precision, energy and expression. Based on their rankings in each one of these, their overall score determines the level placement. All returning dancers will have their level placement determined based on their performance and dance ethic in the past seasons as well as their performance in Season Five auditions.
Who is eligible to audition?
Dancers (18+) of all levels who are passionate about Bollywood!
What is the dress code for auditions?
Please wear comfortable workout clothes. Avoid denim jeans as they can restrict movement.
