* Precision (Timing, correctness of moves, crispness of lines and angles)
* Energy while maintaining correct precision
* Grace (Ability to replicate style)

For Semi-classical category dances, at the end of the auditions, choreographers will choose dancers for their dances in 2 groups: Group A and B. Group A will be given preference on signing up for a piece over Group B. Contemporary/Lyrical dances this season will take Bollywood/Contemporary levels.
All level placements will be final.

What is the audition format (same for both Bollywood/Contemporary and Semi-classical)?
In-person Auditions:
- Dancers attending in-person auditions will be taught about 45-60 seconds of choreography which they have to perform in groups at the end of the audition for evaluation.
- Dancers who are not happy with their performance in the in-person audition may choose to send a video recording of them doing the entire audition choreography twice. Dancers must upload a video of them dancing to the whole music edit sent to them which will require them to do the audition routine twice and back to back -- please do not send us an edited video -- we will know! You must dance the entire routine twice in one go so we can judge your energy levels. In the final show dancers are expected to perform a 3 minute piece and we want to know that you have the energy levels to keep up with your peers. Dancers who attend in-person auditions and wish to submit another video, must do so by 11:59 PM, Monday August 28th. They will be disqualified if they submit a video any later than that. The video should be uploaded as an Unlisted YouTube video and the link must be sent in an email to info@bostonbollywood.com with the subject line "Boston Bollywood Season Twelve Dancer Auditions". The email must also include the dancer's full name (as printed on their Government ID) and phone number.
- Dancers registered for virtual auditions will receive the recorded tutorial link 15-30 minutes prior to the start of auditions. Dancers will also receive a music cut which will have the music used to teach the audition routine. This music cut will contain the "audition music" followed by a 2 seconds pause followed by the "audition music". Hence the total length the of the music cut will be twice the length of the audition routine plus 2 seconds.
- Registered dancers will also receive instructions on how to submit their audition video after the auditions.
- All registered dancers will be taught 45-60 seconds of choreography.
